Live Voice and Real Conversations

YackPack has two ways to communicate – asynchronous voice messaging and real time conversation, called Live Voice.

With Live Voice, talking with and staying connected to your group is easy.

You push (click) and hold the “live” button and talk into your computer microphone. You’ll see the word “transmitting” at the top of your pack instead of the pack name.

Everyone logged in to the pack can hear you speak. You can tell who is logged in because their light bar will be shining to indicate their presence.

You can also see who is online when you push and hold the live button. Those who aren’t logged in will disappear temporarily from view. Only people in your pack who are also logged in will be able to hear you speak.

When you're done speaking, lift up on your mouse button to release the live button. Then you can hear others speak. It’s kind of like a walkie-talkie.

When group members respond, you can see who’s talking because they'll be highlighted in green and they'll "pop up" bigger, kind of like they're standing up to talk.

If you stay logged in all day, your group stays connected, allowing you to talk any time.
