Delete a Message

Messages in YackPack are shared amongst the recipients. That means a copy is not stored locally for everyone on their own computer. YackPack stores them for you. During playback, messages are streamed from the YackPack servers.

Once you delete a message from the pack nobody in the pack will be able to listen to it again. It is removed from everybody in the pack and cannot be undone.

You can delete a message in YackPack if:

  1. You are the pack creator and you also received the message.

OR

  1. You were the sender of the message.

To delete a message, load the correct message archive and click on the message you would like to delete. While it’s playing back, click the button on the right-hand side of the interface at the bottom that says, “Delete this Yack.” You will be presented with a confirmation screen. Click “delete” to proceed. Click “cancel” if you decide it isn’t a good idea to remove it from the pack entirely.

You will not see the “Delete this Yack” option available if you are not able to delete the message. The button will not appear during the playback of that particular message.
